The song is called Real.
Hempadelic World
It’s the hemp, it’s the weed, it’s the soil, it’s the seed
It’s the farmer, it’s the earth as we stand and watch her bleed
And for this my friends, there is truly no need
Because the hemp plant could help us, were it not for greed.
Seeds are eaten roasted, raw, as flour and as meal
As a salve, scent and rub, it helps us all to heal
Soaps, lotions, and conditioners are nice to smell and feel
Lipstick, sunscreen and body scrub for real
Shirts, caps, dresses, jackets, belts and ties
Tarps, socks, shower curtains, and tents to keep you dry
Hammocks, paint, and tablecloths available to buy
But the DEA won’t admit you can’t get high
You can buy pot in California and that’s all fine and good
You can grow weed up in Oregon as those folks feel you should
But the hemp plant is an outlaw and widely misunderstood
The DEA won’t let us raise it, even though they could
It nourishes the soil all around it just by growing
And here is thing agri-giants are clearly knowing
You can fertilize the soil with a seed simply by sowing
The rain and the sun is all you need to keep it going
Then you have furniture stuffing, plaster and structural beams
Car moldings, concrete, and paper by the reams
Candles, bedding, bath mats, place mats and jeans
Clearly hemp is nature’s precious many splendored thing.
